How it all began
Theo is a bee. Her friends call her Theo-Bee. One day she meets someone new. He cannot pronounce the letter B — every B becomes an R.
"Hello, Theo-Ree!"
Theo loved it.
Theo looked around: "Hi! Who are you?"
"I am a Spider."
Theo looked alarmed. "Oh! Where?!"
"What do you mean, where?"
"Is it confidential?" Theo whispered. "You said you are a SPY THERE. If not here... then where?"
Spider realized the misunderstanding. But honestly? He loved it.
That same night
That night, Theo googled TheoRee. She found Theoretical Computer Science. She read. And read. And read. And enjoyed every word. Years later, PhD in hand, she built this website.
That same night, Spider googled "how to become a spy there?" and sent his resume to a very secret mission company. Because of his natural abilities as a spider, he was immediately hired. During his missions, he learned everything about networks and security systems.
Years later
Theo called Spy and asked him to join TheoRee. She suggested he go into every room, watch the students, and catch their mistakes — not to blame them, but to help them understand. Every mistake is a starting point.
When Spy mentioned everything he had learned about networks and security systems, Theo was delighted. "You should teach your own courses!"
Spy loved the idea. He is here now — watching every room, reminding students that every mistake can be the start of a new journey. Exactly as it was for Theo. And exactly as it was for him.

Our Mission
Theoretical Computer Science is the most challenging, most mysterious, and — we would argue — the most magical part of computer science. Algorithms, complexity, graph theory, computation: ideas so deep they changed what we thought machines could do. Ideas born from obsession, rivalry, late-night proofs, and decades of stubborn curiosity.
And yet for most students, it feels like abstract, dry mathematics thrown at them faster than they can absorb it.
TheoRee exists to change that.
We want you to live theory — to play it like a game, to feel the stakes, to meet the real people behind each discovery. Behind every theorem is a human being who stayed up too late, argued with colleagues, doubted themselves, and changed the world anyway. TheoRee brings them to you.

Meet the Founder
Ghazaleh grew up in love with stories, games, and problem solving. Every puzzle had a narrative in her mind — a character, a conflict, a resolution. When she discovered computer science, she found a field that was essentially one long, beautiful puzzle.
At a time when everyone around her was becoming an engineer, Ghazaleh had a quiet, stubborn dream: to become a computer science professor. Not because it was practical, but because she genuinely loved it. Theory especially — with its strange questions, its deep answers, and the fascinating people who spent their lives on both.
After she began teaching theory, she noticed something that bothered her: students found it abstract, dry, disconnected from anything that felt real or exciting. They were learning the same ideas she found magical — and not feeling the magic at all.
One night she asked herself: why shouldn't I share the joy of theoretical computer science the way I see it? The way I enjoy it? So that more students can see the beauty and the magic behind it.
TheoRee was born on a walk. She thought about a bee. Then about how a bee could have a name like TheoRee. Then she went home and started building.
For her students. For anyone who ever thought theory was not for them. It is.
